| DRILLING
and PRODUCTION
Energy Corporation
of America drills and produces 50 - 100 new wells every year
to compliment the nearly 5000 wells already operated by the
company. By drilling and operating as many wells as possible,
ECA is able to continue to be a low-cost leader in the energy
business.
A major focus of
ECA is drilling a large number of Appalachian development wells
each year. These shallow wells allow ECA to develop proven and
potential reserves while obtaining a high rate of return. In
addition, ECA drills a number of deeper exploratory wells in
all areas, including New York, West Virginia, Texas, and New
Zealand. Recently, the company has also begun the development
of deep Wilcox reserves in Texas with joint-venture partners.
Whether drilling
shallow Appalachian wells or targeting deep, over-pressured
zones in Texas, ECA works to drill and operate as economically
as possible while maintaining an eye on new technology and ways
to improve all operations.
As
a result of years of drilling activities and targeted acquisitions,
Energy Corporation of America produces a company-wide gross
daily average of over 60 million cubic feet of natural gas and
oil.
Company-owned
proven reserves total nearly 400 billion cubic feet. As an independent
producer, ECA ranks in the top 60 in the United States.
