Energy Corporation of America Hires Thirteen Employees
Charleston, WV (June 15, 2009)__Energy Corporation of America (ECA), a privately held energy exploration and production company, has announced the recruitment of thirteen new employees to its east division offices despite the current slow down in the energy sector. Since June of 2008 ECA has hired employees for engineering, operations, marketing, mapping, geology, and well tending positions, primarily for their Charleston, West Virginia office. ECA also opened a new office in May of 2009 in Greene County to better access its significant acreage position in the Marcellus Shale.
Though producers across the country continue to scale back drilling activity, cut capital spending, and lay off workers due to falling energy prices, ECA has continued to expand its operations, primarily in the Marcellus fairway. They plan to continue their Marcellus development program in multiple areas of the play during 2009 including Central Pennsylvania, North/Central West Virginia, and Southern West Virginia. They also anticipate spending an estimated $300 million drilling in the Marcellus in the next three to five years.
